Portrait of Caterina Corbellini (?)

Carlo Innocenzo Carloni

This portrait, which was recently donated to the Pinacoteca, probably depicts Carloni’s wife Caterina, daughter of the plasterer Giacomo Antonio Corbellini who was also from the Val d’Intelvi and who worked with Carloni in Monza cathedral and in the chapel in the royal palace of Ludwisburg in Württemberg, Germany. His rare yet important portraits include a Self-portrait with his Family still owned by his descendants.
