From 27 March to 11 June 2017, the Pinacoteca di Brera hosts a new and highly original dialogue among masterpieaces in the history of art: “Around Lotto” will be showcasing paintings from the museum’s own collection in dialogue with other “guest” pictures, continuing a tradition of dialogues launched by James Bradburne, the new director of the Pinacoteca di Brera and of the Biblioteca Braidense.

Third dialogue “Caravaggio. Readings and Re-readings” – Video Teaser
From November 10th to February 5th the Pinacoteca di Brera will be hosting the third exceptional dialogue between one of the museum’s in-house masterpieces and other “guest” works. The star of this edition is one of the Pinacoteca’s most celebrated paintings, the Supper at Emmaus by the Lombard master Michelangelo Merisi, better known as Caravaggio.

From 16 June to 25 September 2016 the Pinacoteca di Brera will be hosting a spectacular new dialogue between two masterpieces in the history of world art: Andrea Mantegna’s Lamentation over the Dead Christ, one of the Milan picture gallery’s most emblematic works and a universal icon of the Renaissance, and the Corpse of Christ (or The Body of Christ and the Implements of His Martyrdom), a version of the same subject painted by Annibale Carracci in 1583–5 and on loan from the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart.
