Special evening opening

Thursday, December 7, the Pinacoteca di Brera awaits you for an extraordinary evening opening from 7:20 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. (last admission 10 p.m.) at the symbolic cost of 4 euros (excluding statutory gratuities).

This evening is also a special opportunity to see in Room 23 Chat Between… Matisse and Bonnard, a comparison of two masterpieces, one Henri Matisse’s Femme au violon from the Musée de L’Orangerie in Paris, the other Pierre Bonnard’s Portrait of Marta Bonnard; a special “chat” between two artists who, as visitors will discover, had a special relationship with each other as well as shared pictorial characteristics and themes.

And also the twelfth dialogue “Prospero Fontana. The Virgin Assumed and Saints: restoration and rediscovery,” Prospero Fontana’s newly restored large altarpiece Virgin Assumed and Saints, in dialogue with another painting by the artist from the Quadreria di Palazzo Magnani in Bologna and a reproduction of a Uffizi drawing.
