The Book House
An enchanted space, a space that doesn’t enclose, but enhances the experience of reading.
The idea was born in a simple story written for a three year-old, and became reality in the hands of her mother.
Not long ago, a three-year-old girl called Nicole read “The Hidden Staircase”and used it to explore the Pinacoteca with her mother, who wrote to the Director , James M. Bradburne. Inspired by the letter, he wrote a new story, “Nicole & the Book House”. Inspired by his story, Nicole’s mother published a limited edition and built a real wooden house for Nicole and her beloved books.
With the publication of Nicole and the Bookhouse in November 2021, the President of CIRCI, James Bradburne, launched an appeal to designers, architects and manufacturers to create a low-cost ‘bookhouse’ that could be used as a gift to young readers.
The Book House can belong to any child who wants a special place to spend time in the company of books.
The Book House project is non-profit, any revenue from its sale will be re-invested in one of CIRCI’s initiatives.
