On September 23 and 24, the Pinacoteca di Brera celebrates European Heritage Days 2023, and on Saturday 23rd there will be a special evening opening at the symbolic cost of 2 euro from 7.20 p.m.
Each year, the Ministry of Culture joins the European Heritage Days (GEP), an event promoted in 1991 by the Council of Europe and the European Commission with the aim of enhancing and fostering dialogue and exchange in the cultural sphere among European nations. This is an extraordinarily important opportunity to reaffirm the central role of culture in the dynamics of Italian society.
The initiative, as is now a tradition, is also joined by a great many non-state cultural venues including civic museums, municipalities, galleries, foundations and private associations, building an extremely varied cultural offer, with a calendar that often comes close to a thousand events.
The Italian theme of GEP 2023 “Patrimonio InVita” picks up and the European slogan “Living Heritage,” chosen by the Council of Europe and shared by the event’s member countries, and invites reflection on intangible cultural heritage understood as a synonym for “living” heritage.
