Caravaggio’s “Supper in Emmaus” on loan to Palazzo Barberini

Dear Visitors,
the Pinacoteca di Brera is pleased to announce its participation in the prestigious exhibition “Caravaggio 2025,” running at Palazzo Barberini in Rome from March 7 to July 6, 2025. On this occasion, our museum has granted on exceptional loan Caravaggio’s famous work Supper at Emmaus (1606).

The exhibition “Caravaggio 2025” represents a unique event, bringing together more than 20 masterpieces by the Lombard master from international collections and museums around the world. Among the works on display, in addition to the Supper at Emmaus, are the Portrait of Maffeo Barberini, recently rediscovered and presented to the public after more than sixty years, and Ecce Homo, returned to Italy for the first time in centuries.

In addition, the exhibition is part of the celebrations for the Jubilee 2025, an event of extraordinary scope that will see Rome as the protagonist of a year of pilgrimages, cultural and spiritual events. This makes the exhibition an even more unmissable occasion for visitors to immerse themselves in the great art of the 17th century in the heart of the Eternal City.

The participation of the Pinacoteca di Brera in this exhibition underscores the importance of collaboration between cultural institutions for the enhancement of the world’s artistic heritage.
We thank our audiences for their understanding and continued support, certain that this initiative will contribute to a greater dissemination and appreciation of Caravaggio’s work.
