From Bach to Jazz
The evolution of classical music
before contemporary music.

The Pinacoteca di Brera, in collaboration with the Micheli Foundation, presents a series of six evening musical events in the form of masterclass concerts, held by internationally renowned pianists (Gile Bae, Giuseppe Albanese, Roberto Giordano, Michele Di Toro, Alessandro Taverna) who will illustrate the evolution of music from the 18th to the 20th century through live performances.

The concerts, which will take place from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will coincide with the special opening hours of the Pinacoteca until 11:30 p.m.

Alessandro Taverna in concert with a program dedicated to F. Liszt.

Alessandro Taverna is considered one of the most refined Italian pianists of his generation. Having made his breakthrough at the Leeds Piano Competition in 2009, he has performed in prestigious international venues, including La Scala in Milan, the Musikverein in Vienna, and Wigmore Hall in London.

He has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Filarmonica della Scala, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestra RAI, conducted by maestros such as Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Chailly, and Myung-Whun Chung.

A multiple award winner in international competitions (Busoni, Leeds, Premio Venezia), in 2012 he received the President of the Republic Award for artistic merit. He teaches at the Imola Piano Academy, the Padua Conservatory, and the Santa Cecilia Foundation in Portogruaro.
