Sofya Gavrilova
Sofya Gavrilova was born in 2001 in Russia. She began studying flute at the age of eight at the Gnessin School of Children’s Music in Moscow. During her years of study she received a few diplomas for participation in competitions: a grade I and III diploma of the Moscow Regional Open Competition in music theory. Later she graduated with honors in 2016.
After graduation from secondary school she studied at the Ippolitoff-Ivanoff Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Moscow with Prof. Andrei Shatskiy in 2019 and 2020. Since 2020 she is enrolled in the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in the class of prof. Raffaele Trevisani.
She has taken part in masterclasses of outstanding flutists and teachers, such as Raffaele Trevisani, Denis Bouriakov, Pierre-Yves Artaud, Trevor Wye, Wally Hase, Anne-Catherine Heinzmann and others.
